Bangladesh Business Summit
Bangladesh Business Summit is an international trade and investment promotion
event being organized by Bangladesh’s apex business body Federation of
Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), in partnership with the
Government of Bangladesh. The summit, envisaged to become Bangladesh’s flagship
business promotion bi-annual event, seeks to highlight Bangladesh’s economic and
market strengths, and concrete trade and investment opportunities in Bangladesh
by convening national and global businesses leaders, investors, policymakers,
practitioners, policy and market analysts, academia, and innovators.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is one of
the largest trade associations in the country representing the readymade garment
industry, particularly the woven garments, knitwear and sweater sub-sectors with
equal importance. Starting its journey in 1983 today BGMEA takes care of an
industry that is at the backbone of Bangladesh’s economy. Since the inception,
BGMEA is dedicated to promote and facilitate the apparel industry through policy
advocacy to the government, services to members, ensuring workers’ rights and
social compliance at factories. BGMEA collaborates with local and international
stakeholders, including brands and development partners to pave the way for
development of Bangladesh apparel industry. Currently, BGMEA has around four
thousand registered garment factories.

Bangladesh Trade Portal
The Bangladesh Trade Portal is a one-stop point for information relating to
export from and import into Bangladesh. Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, the
portal provides an accessible, logical, helpful window for traders to access
important regulatory and procedural information needed to export and import. The
portal is an important step for the government toward improving the
predictability and transparency of the country’s trading laws and processes.

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), established in 1958 under companies
Act 1913 is the largest and most vibrant business chamber in Bangladesh. Its
membership consists of industrial conglomerates, manufacturers, importers,
exporters and traders mostly of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The main
objectives of DCCI are to promote private sector enterprises and businesses with
advocacy, awareness and policy inputs to government.

Exporters Association of Bangladesh
Exporters Association of Bangladesh is an Apex Association for the exporters,
incorporated by the government of Bangladesh in order to formulate policy
concerning export trade, oversee the problems, monitor existing situation of
export, seek government assistance for export trade, submit views for inclusion
in the national budget, identify national and international barriers and suggest
measures for addressing the bottlenecks & impediments for smooth & orderly
running of the export trade of the country.

Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is the
apex trade organization of Bangladesh playing a pivotal role in consultative and
advisory capacity, safeguarding the interest of the private sector. FBCCI is the
member of different international bodies, such as International Chamber of
Commerce (ICC), Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Confederation
of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), and the SAARC Chamber
of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI). FBCCI also interacts with various
international economic and trade promotion organizations including UNDP, ESCAP,
UNIDO, ITC, GATT-UNCTAD.
